On July
25, 2007 Wisma Bahasa run a seminar to celebarate Wisma
Bahasa's 25th Anniversary. The theme of the seminar
was "Global Warming". There were 20 participants
outside the students, teachers. and staff of Wisma Bahasa.
Total participants were about 60 people. The speakers
were from Jogjakarta Animal Rescue Center (PPSJ), Community
Development of Yayasan Suara Bhakti, and a student of
Wisma Bahasa who works in Department of Environment
Law of Australia. In this seminar the speakers talked
about the fenomena, the efects, and how to reduce the
global warming.
The program was continued with dinner
to celebrate the birthday of Wisma Bahasa and some students
and Wisma Bahasa staff that celebrate their birthday
on July. This party was attended by all Wisma Bahasa's
students, staff, and all Divisions of Suara Bhakti Foundation
(Project Management, Wisma Bahsa English Division, Community
Development and , of course, Wisma Bahasa Indonesian
Division).
Before having dinner, there were a
ceremony of potong tumpeng (Javanese tradition)
to symbolize Wisma Bahasa's birthday. Tumpeng
(Javanese) is cooked rice that is made in mountain shape,
and potong is slice the top of the tumpeng.
Besides, we watched a documentary film
of Al Gore titled "An Inconvenient Truth" |
