On August
11, 2007 Wisma Bahasa held a visit to PPSJ Yogyakarta.
The participants were students, teachers and staff.
This event was held to celebrate Wisma Bahasa's 25th
anniversary.
There, we got some information how
to rescue and rehabilitate animals. The PPSJ guide said
that rehabilitation is not easy because, for example,
to rehabilitate a elang laut bird (Haliatus
leocogaster), PPSJ needed 2-3 years. After that PPSJ
released it in real world. It was not finish yet. PPSJ
had to observe it at least 6 months, to convince the
bird could survive or not. It is difficult because PPSJ
released animals not only in Yogyakarta, but in all
over Indonesia islands. PPSJ released the animals into
the real habitat. Besides, we also planted some trees
there. |
